21 Russian citizens elected to local councils in Belarus

21 Russian citizens have been elected local deputies in Belarus: 15 – in village councils, 4 – in district councils and 1 – in regional and city councils each. Most of them were elected in the Viciebsk and Mahilyou Regions – 7 people in each region; Homel Region – 5 and 1 person in the Hrodna and Minsk Regions each, the Central Election Commission announced. Russian citizens have the right to be elected local deputes if they hold permanent residence permits in Belarus.
More than 18 thousand deputies were elected to local councils during the 2018 elections. 0.12% of them are Russians.
