Belarusian Foreign Ministry notes normalization of relations with US
This is what Alyaksandr Huryanau said during an online conference on the BELTA site.
On March 31, Deputy Foreign Minister Alyaksandr Huryanau held an online conference on the BELTA website. He said that now there is a certain normalization of Belarusian-American relations.
"Even in the most difficult years for the Belarus-American cooperation, our country did not stop cooperation on issues of global and regional security and prevention of illegal transit of nuclear materials. In recent years, thanks to the mutual efforts, the relations between our countries have been improving. There is a reason to talk about a certain normalization of relations," said the diplomat.
He noted the cooperation between Belarusian and American law enforcement agencies, inter-regional relations, cooperation in the fields of science, culture and education. Huryanau also mentioned the Belarusian Investment Forum, held in New York with the participation of Prime Minister of Belarus in 2014.
Huryanau called a good signal the cancellation of US sanctions for a number of companies. As Euroradio reported, the State Department recently lifted sanctions against Belorusneft and Trust Bank. But, according to Huryanou, even earlier sanctions did not constrain cooperation with the United States. Thus, in 2014 exports of goods increased by 30-40%, exports of services grew even more.
