Darya Domracheva wins Big Crystal Globe (video)
She finished the last race fourth and was 48 points ahead of her rival Kaisa Mäkäräinen.
The final stage of the World Biathlon Cup finished in Russian Khanty-Mansiysk on March 22. Belarusian Darya Domracheva won the Big Crystal Globe for the first time in her career.
Our biathlete was 48 points ahead of her closest rival, Finn Kaisa Mäkäräinen.
Darya Domarcheva is 28 years old. She is the first Belarusian sportswoman to have become a Hero of Belarus. She received the title for becoming a three-time Olympic champion in Sochi in February 2014.
German Laura Dahlmeier won the last race, Czech Gabriela Soukalová finished 7 seconds later, Frenchwoman Marie Dorin Habert came 20 seconds later and Darya Domracheva finished 29 seconds later. Kaisa Mäkäräinen finished the race in the 13th place.
Domracheva finished the 12.5 km race in 35 minutes 38.1 seconds and missed twice (0+0+1+1).
Darya Domarcheva is in the first place in the general score and has 1092 points. Finn Kaisa Mäkäräinen is in the second position with 1044 points. Ukrainian Valentina Semnerenko is in the third place with 865 points.
Belarusian Nadzeya Skardzina is in the 18th position (442), Nadzeya Pisarava - 41st (172), Anastasiya Dubarezava – 50th (122) and Iryna Kryuko – 55th (100).
