Freedom Day rally participants detained
Police detained a young man holding a flag with national colors during the Freedom Day rally in Minsk.
Tsimur Sidoryk was detained near Kalinina Lane.
“We were leaving the park in Bangalore Square. We had a flag. They approached us and demanded to put the flag down. We asked why we had to do it and asked them to show their documents. The people did not explain anything but we put down the flag and got on a trolleybus. They started following us. We got off in Kalinian Street and headed for Independence Square. Then a police bus appeared and he was taken away,” Tsimur’s friend said.
A blue Volkswagen (number 9429-IK) approached. Five people got out and carried Tsimur into the bus. Then they left, the other friends said. Nobody else was detained.
It has also been reported that Young Front member and ex-political prisoner Eduard Lobau has also been detained.
