Polatsk entrepreneurs stop strike and resume work
After a two-day strike, Polatsk entrepreneurs decided to resume work. According to Radio Liberty, on Sunday, they gathered in the local market to sign an appeal drafted by the NGO "Perspective". Traders decided to come to work, but protect colleagues in case of their products' seizure.
They are going to submit the address to the executive committee, and forward the copy to the Presidential Administration.
As Euroradio reported earlier, spontaneous strike at the Polatsk market were held on October 16th. The reason was the confiscation of the goods, conducted by the tax inspection and other public services. According to the decree 222, traders need to submit official documents confirming the acquisition and the quality of the purchased items. Entrepreneurs say that most of the goods are bought wholesale in Russia and they are not provided with documents that would satisfy the Belarusian structures.
