Ales Byalyatski not allowed to attend father’s funeral?
The political prisoner is unlikely to be allowed to attend his father’s funeral. Let us remind you that Victar Byalyatski died at the age of 83 on December 24.
Human rights defender Valyantsin Stefanovich thinks that the political prisoner is very unlikely to be allowed to attend the funeral.
Stefanovich: "Byalyatski’s wife Natallya Pinchuk visited the Penalty Department on Saturday. She sent one more appeal asking to allow him to take part in his father’s funeral. She has to present the official report of his father’s death there today. However, he will be buried in Svetlahorsk tomorrow and I do not think that Ales will be able to take part in the funeral”.
Natallya Pinchuk has informed “Solidarity” that representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office told her on Monday that there was no legal procedure of allowing the prisoner to attend his father’s funeral.
