Julia Tymoshenko's party members prepare festive demonstration near colony
Apart from traditional performances, the party "Homeland" will conduct a festive demonstration with flowers for their imprisoned leader on March 8.
Let us remind you, Ukraine's ex-PM Julia Tymoshenko is serving 7 years of imprisonment for
exceeding the official powers when signing gas contracts with Russia in the
colony of Kharkiv.
According to the information provided by UNIAN, the International Institute of Sociology
in Kyiv has conducted a poll with regard to what Ukrainians think about Julia
Tymoshenko's imprisonment. 39% of respondents are convinced that she was
punished for her political activity, 26% think that she committed crimes,
25% of respondents are sure that she was imprisoned both for crimes and the
"politics".
Besides, according to the poll conducted in February, Tymoshenko stays the second most popular politician in Ukraine - she has 19,4%. The country's President Victor Yanukovich has 19,7%.
