Number of scientific papers with plagiarism tripled in Belarus

According toy the chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) Aliaksandr Huchok, in Belarus there are now more dissertations with plagiarism, submitted for defense to the HAC, reports "Pozirk".
As a rule, the HAC rejects one or two works with signs of plagiarism per year. In 2023, there were as many as six such dissertations. The commission removed them from consideration "for further revision."
Three of these dissertations were postdoc theses. The commission found in them instances of "improper borrowing of materials belonging to other authors".
In 2022, for the first time in several years, the Commission on plagiarism, falsification and forgery was not convened.
