Anarchists suspected of throwing paint at BT office are let off
The police have let off the young man and woman detained on June 13 on suspicion of throwing paint at the office of the Belarusian State Broadcasting Company, nn.by reports. Their names have not been announced so far.
The anarchists were not asked to sign any documents but they are still suspects, journalists report.
The action about TV propaganda was held on June 9. A few young people threw paint at the door of the BT office. Minsk Pershamaiski District Court started a criminal case for group hooliganism which may result in up to 6 years of imprisonment. However, this case resembles the so-called ‘graffitists’ case’, human rights defenders say. It means that the charges may be changed to damage to property. Then the young people may face up to three months of imprisonment.
