Anfimau: Speculators in foreign currency to be arrested in Belarus
The shadow money market may appear in Belarus due to the yesterday’s innovation of the government and the National Bank.
The state control committee will take the necessary measures to stop speculators in foreign currency in Belarus, its chief Leanid Anfimau said.
The banks will start taking a 30% fee for foreign currency purchases today. It will be done ‘to avoid negative tendencies in the Belarusian money market’.
The department for financial investigation will have to monitor the situation in the money market, Anfimau announced yesterday. He did not exclude the fact that a shadow money market could appear in Belarus.
"We will struggle with the negative tendencies,” BELTA quotes SCC chief Leanid Anfimau.
