Belarus to suspend pork supplies to Russia until November 11
The genome of African swine fever has been revealed in the products of four Belarusian meatpacking plants.
Belarus will suspend pork supplies to Russia until November 11. Head of the Russian Agricultural Inspectorate Sergei Dankvert and Belarusian Minister of Agriculture Leanid Zayats reached the agreement on Thursday.
The suspension is caused by the fact that the genome of African swine fever has been found in the products of four Belarusian meatpacking plants. The restrictions apply to cold and frozen meat and variety meat.
Pork supplies to Russia have not been banned, interfax.by refers to the Russian Agricultural Inspectorate. Belarus will suspend the certification of pork for the Russian market according to the self-restriction regime that exists in the two states.
The further actions will be discussed at a meeting on November 11. The administration of Kazakhstan Veterinary Service will also be present there.
The genome of African swine fever was found in the products of Orsha, Minsk, Mahilyou and Babruisk meatpacking plants.
