Belarus, Russian Foreign Ministers meet in Moscow
Uladzimir Makei and Sergeiy Lavrov are meeting in Moscow to discuss foreign policy cooperation between the two states.
The Ministers ‘are satisfied with the state of Belarus-Russia cooperation in foreign policy’, BELTA reports. Makei and Lavrov confirmed ‘the agreement of the states’ positions in some actual issues of ‘the development of international relations and the main ways of Eurasian integration’. No other details have been reported yet.
Belarus has not recognized Russia’s annexation of Crimea. Alyaksandr Lukashenka only stated that Crimea had become part of Russia ‘de facto’. Nevertheless, Belarus did not support the UN resolution condemning the Russian aggression directed against Ukraine in Crimea.
