Belarusian and Russian partisans to gather in a week
About 100 veterans of the Great Patriotic War will gather in Klichau District, Belarus, on June 27.
The will take part in a regional gathering dated for the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus. The local authorities have prepared a lot of events including open-air partisan museums. “A musical theatre programme reconstructing partisan life will be shown there, ” BELTA reports.
Klichau District was not chosen accidentally. It was one of the centres of the partisan movement during the war. Partisans liberated the District centre from German invaders on March 30, 1944.
