Specialists who prepared materials on Belarusian Vycinanka for UNESCO have either left Belarus or were dismissed as politically unreliable, reports the telegram channel Spadchyna, which covers the protection of historical and cultural heritage of Belarus.
Not long ago it became known that the Belarusian Vycinanka was included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO. The files for such status were prepared several years ago. The process of consideration by UNESCO takes quite a long time.
According to the author of the telegram channel Spadchyna, there are no specialists left in the state institutions who can prepare a dossier for UNESCO. If there is something - "it is all a remnant of a former life".
Vycinanka is the art of cutting lace from paper. It was widely spread in Belarus in the XIX century - it was used to decorate houses. In our country Vycinanka has the status of an immaterial historical and cultural value.
