Belarusian Ministry of Trade: Producers should lower prices
The Belarusian Ministry of Trade has suggested that producers should lower their prices. The prices for citrus plants, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, beetroots, apples, pork, electronic appliances, TV-sets and others goods have gone down this March. However, the process needs to continue because ‘the President has set the goal to decrease the prime cost of Belarusian goods by at least 25% and because the Belarusian rouble exchange rate is stable now’, officials say. Producers should take additional measures in order to decrease the prices.
Retail prices in Belarus are more than 15% lower than in the Central Okrug of Russia, the Ministry of Trade noted.
More than 800 objects of catering and trade have been checked this year. Over 940 reports were drawn up and sent to court. The sum of the fines totalled about 3.8 billion roubles. The work of 185 objects was suspended for 12 days in 2016.
