Celebration of 500th anniversary of Orsha Battle banned
Mikola Kupava received official response from the Orsha executive committee
Local officials did not give consent for carrying of festivals and concerts on on the Krapivenski field on 6 September. According to Kupava, refusal is based on the "wrong registration of application": the sources of financing were not indicated, provision of ambulance was not included in the application.
Now the organizing committee will consider other options of the battle anniversary clebrations, informs Nasha Niva.
The Orsha battle took place on September 8, 1514. Then the 30-thousand troops of the GDL headed by Hetman Astrozhsky broke the 80-thousand army of Muscovy. This is one of the most famous battles in the history of Belarus.
