The Eastern Partnership summit will take place towards the end of November in Brussels. Belarus President Aliaksandr Lukashenka also received an invitation to attend.
Contrary to scepticism expressed by numerous commentators, German Ambassador in Minsk Peter Dettmar reckons the Eastern Partnership format has not grown outdated. At the summit, the participants of this initiative determine the situation they find themselves at the moment.
As for Belarus' and its leadership's participation in the summit, this is something that Belarus decides on it own, according to the ambassador.
Ambassador Dettmar: "President Lukashenka was invited. It is up to him to decide whether he goes there or not... But it is always good when there is a possibility to discuss issues at the highest level."
