Lenin monument temporarily removed from Hotsimsk
Its pedestal is going to be replaced.
A monument to Lenin will be temporarily removed from Hotsimsk, Homel Province. The distract administration has asked all local inhabitants to accept this fact and ‘not to panic’.
When the repairs started, it turned out that the pedestal had to be replaced, district newspaper October Way reports. Hotsimsk authorities are looking for money and preparing all the necessary documents now. The monument will be temporarily removed and will be returned to its place when all the repairs are over.
It is not clear why Hotsimsk District authorities think that the temporary removal of the monument may cause panic among the district population, the human rights website Viasna reports.
