Lukashenka visits Orsha on Easter Day (video)
The Belarus president attended a service in the Church of the Birth of God's Holy Mother in Orsha, Viciebsk region on Easter.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka marked Easter in the Church of the Birth of Most Holy Mother of God in Orsha on April 12. The President and his son Mikalai attended an Easter service and talked to the congregation, BELTA reports.
Lukashenka wished health and a good mood to the present: “If we are in a good mood, we are able to do everything.”
The President mentioned Belarus’ peaceful character in his speech: “We are not going to wage war. But if somebody decides to, we will welcome them accordingly. But we do not have such enemies now,” Lukashenka claimed.
The Belarusian President presented the icon The Saviour drawn by Dzmitry Paluyanau to the church. The icon Last Supper made by masters from the Kutsein Brotherhood was presented to Lukashenka in return.
