Minsk to host a meeting on Ukraine on September 5
Tripartite contact group (Ukraine - OSCE - Russia) will meet to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
As BelTA informs, it will begin on Friday at about 1 pm in President-hotel in Minsk. The Foreign Ministry has not yet reported who will in fact represent the parties at the negotiations.
It should be recalled that the previous meeting was held in Minsk on September 1 in the format of Ukraine - Russia - Donbass separatists - OSCE. Representatives of Kiev and the self-proclaimed republics exchanged documents with the vision to end the conflict in Donbass.
According to UNIAN, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko admitted the possibility of deciding on a bilateral cease-fire in case the contact group agrees on a peace plan. The leaders of the so-called People's Republic of Donetsk and People's Republic of Luhansk Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitski announced their readiness to order a cease-fire in Donbass at 3 pm on September 5. Also, it will only happen in the event that the negotiations will end in signing up of a political settlement of the conflict, reports RIA Novosti.
