Non-freeloaders march organizer in Brest gets 5 days of arrest
Farmer Alyaksandr Kabanau who organized the Non-Freeloaders March protest in Brest last weekend on March 9 appeared in the Biarozauka district court facing charges in three administrative offence proceedings, reports nn.by.
Two administrative cases were related to the protests: Kabanau had allegedly violated the law on mass events and cursed in public. Kabanau regards cursing charges a provocation: in the morning a man asked a cigarette from him, then money and eventually cursed him. Later, the same man - Sychyk from Biaroza - filed a statement against Kabanau with the police. The police officers who were in a car next to the farmer's house witnessed against the activist.
Judge Natallia Vakulchyk found the farmer guilty of violating the law on mass events and sentenced him to five days of arrest.
