Olympic champion Andrei Aramnau finishes career
Beijing Olympics weightlifting champion Andei Aramnau has finished his career due to health problems.
"I have quit sports,” tribuna.by quotes Aramnau. “I have not done any weightlifting for almost a year. I had to choose whether I wanted to become handicapped or quit sports and become a coach”.
He has always wanted to set records, the sportsman said. However, it resulted in overload, Aramnau noted. He blames his coaches for urging on him because ‘their wages depended on his results’.
Numerous traumas followed. It was necessary to quit professional sports, doctors concluded.
Andrei Aramnau will turn 28 on April 17. He has not achieved any results since Beijing Olympics-2008. Aramnau was caught driving while intoxicated in December 2008. The sportsman was arrested and deprived of his driving license. However, he did the same thing two months later. A criminal case was started. The sportsman was fined and deprived of the President’s scholarship.
