The Belarusian Ministry for Foreign Affairs has reacted to Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski’s statement about the Belarusian NPP. Polish Ambassador to Belarus Konrad Pawlik has been summoned.
“The two sides have exchanged opinions at the meeting. Poland is mostly worried about the safety of the Belarusian NPP and is definitely not planning to politicize the issue,” Ambassador Pawlik stressed.
Poland is not going to buy energy from the Belarusian NPP, Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski told RIA Novosti. Poland has not expressed any doubts as regards the safety of the Belarusian NPP either at the bilateral level or in the framework of the existing international formats, the Belarusian MFA stressed. Belarusian diplomats were surprised to hear Minister Waszczykowski say that his country would not buy Belarusian energy because of ‘unsafe technologies’ since Poland is also considering the development of its own nuclear energy sector.
