Prominent IT-industry businessman VP Capital CEO Viktar Prakapenya has commented on the recent meeting with the President dedicated to the digital economy development. The meeting on 11 December at the Office of the President discussed the draft decree designed to boos the IT-industry. “Digital transformation is the key priority to the development of the state,” Lukashenka stressed. The IT sphere should get ‘a new development impulse so that talented people could fulfill themselves’, he said.

The new decree will be ‘extremely liberal’, Prakapenya wrote on Facebook. “Blockchains will be supported by all possible means and there will be zero red tape,” the investor noted. It will be possible to hire foreign specialists without any obstacles, Prakapenya wrote. The President also supported the idea of ‘improving the quality of the English language lessons at schools so that every child could be fluent in English after graduation.’ The number of IT specialists should also ‘dramatically’ increase.
