Radiation level 1250 higher than legal limit in sea near Fukushima-1
The Japan Atomic Energy Agency has informed about it this Saturday, March 26, reports Agence France-Presse.
Radioactive iodine—131 at a concentration 1,250.8 times the legal limit was found on Friday morning in a seawater sample taken by the plant’s operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) around a few hundred metres away from the first power unit of Fukushima-1 nuclear power station. The NHK TV channel specifies that the water samples were taken 300 metres away from the power unit.
