Record support at UN to lift Cuba embargo
The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution urging the USA to lift the economic blockade imposed on Cuba more than 50 years ago.
The document has been supported by 191 states. Two countries (USA and Israel) voted contra, BBC reports. No countries abstained for the first time in 24 years.
President Barack Obama decided to remove Cuba from the list if countries sponsoring terrorism in April. The USA and Cuba restored diplomatic relations in July.
