Education credit: get 35 millions and return 150!
A young specialist will have to pay the bank 2.5 million roubles a month after graduation.
Education credits have become much more expensive together with consumer credits. The interest rate of the education credit has reached 44% in “Belagroprombank”. It used to be 15% a year ago.
The interest rate of the education credit in “Belarusbank” totals 30%. There is a beneficial credit too – half the official discount rate. It is given if your income is up to 1.5 million roubles per family member.
However, only participants of a special programme can get a beneficial credit in “Belagroprombank”.
“The education credit for students is given only to participants of the children’s action. You have to deposit 1 million roubles for at least 500 days. And the participants should not be older than 16”.
Thus, you have to deposit three years before you apply for the credit.
Imagine we have the deposit and enter the BSU Faculty of International Relations which costs about 35 millions for 5 years of studying. The payment is expected to increase soon, however, the faculty assures that the increase will not exceed 20%.
“This is an 11-year credit. The interest rate is 11%. The maximum sum is 40 millions. The money is sent directly to the university”, - notes “Belagroprombank”. A student can get this credit if one of his or her parents makes more than 5 millions a month!
The student will be able to study for 5 years without thinking about the credit, but then...
“You start paying after you graduate – three months after your graduation. It is 2 million 500 thousands now”.
Thus, the graduate will have to fund a job where he or she will be paid more than 2.5 millions. We have asked the job centre “Collection of Discoveries” about the salaries of graduates of the Faculty of International Relations.
“I think they are offered 200 or 300 dollars. And we only help those who have experience”.
Accord to the current exchange rate, 300 dollars is 2.6 millions. It means the graduate will have to live on 100 thousands a month. It will not be enough to pay for the communal services.
If you take an education credit today, you will have to call it in by 2021.
By the way, if the cost education at the Faculty of International Relations increases by 20%, the credit you get from “Belagroprombank” will not be enough.
