Martin Schulz becomes new EP President
The German Social Democrat replaced Pole Jerzy Buzek at this position.
Schulz wants to achieve more Euro-integration and to take more political decisions aimed at struggle with the financial crisis, informs European Parliament's official page.
Schulz is famous for his sharp criticism. In 2003, Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi called him an ideal candidate for being a guard in a concentration camp. Later, he apologized for that.
