Polish trade unions protest against pension reform (photo)
About 13 thousand members of the Independent Self-governing Trade Union "Solidarity" are protesting opposite the Polish Sejm today.
The reason for their discontent is the pension reform suggested by the Polish government. According to it, the pension age should increase for 1 month every 4 months starting from 2013. Thus, it would increase by three months every year.
Activists of Polish trade unions demand that the pension issue should be put to referendum. They claim that they will not leave the spot opposite the building of the Sejm until MPs vote on the issue.
Some opposition parties and movements have expressed their intention to join the protest actions, informs tvn24.pl.
