Prostituion ring busted in Shangri La casino in Minsk
The police detain two people suspected of rendering escort services to Shangri La casino's VIP clients in Belarus capital, Minsk.
The Inerior Ministry's drugs enforcement and human trafficking department has carried out a special operation to stop illegal activities in Shangri La casino, Interior Ministry's spokesman Kanstantsin Shalkevich told Euroradio. Two men are suspected of running a sex tourism ring, providing prostitutes to casino's clients.
Kanstantsin Shalkevich: "They are facing from 3 to 10 years in prison and confiscation of property."
Police agents are currently in the casino collecting evidence. The suspects, aged 27 and 28, have been detained and presented with criminal charges. The number of suspects may increase, the police spokesman said.
The police have monitored the criminal activities in the casino since 2009 when the business was launched, according to Shalkevich. The police have reportedly established numerous facts of beautiful women being provided for sex services to rich men from among the casino clients.
