Sixth attempt by Belarusian Christian Democracy to register as party

Belarusian Christian Democrac's organizing committee on December 24 submitted paperwork with the Ministry of Justice seeking to register a political party with the same name. The foundng congress took place on December 12 in Minsk. It adopted the program and statutes of the party and elected the national council of Belarusian Christian Democracy.

Belapan reminds that the organizing committee of Belarusian Christian Democracy was refused registration five times (2009, 2010 (twice), 2011 and 2015). During the latest attempt, Ministry of Justice cited the refusal by two party co-founders from their signatures as reasons to reject their registration application. There were also minor disparities, which, in the view of BCD representatives, could not doubt the registration of the political party.

Christian Democrats earlier announced their plans to submit an application for a Guiness Book record over the number of registration refusals.
