Belarusian biathlete Nadezhda Skardino, 32, who has recently won the 15K individual at the World Cup in Östersund, Sweden is in the centre of attention now. She has never been overshadowed by Darya Domracheva, Skardino told matchtv.ru. “I was in the second position in the team but I was not overshadowed. I was in the right place,” Nadezhda said. “I was treated according to my results.”
Alyaksandr Lukashenka has congratulated Nadezhda Skardino on her victory. “Your success reached thanks to your diligence and will for victory has given all Belarusians a chance to experience the wonderful moments of happiness and pride in their country. This is your first World Cup gold medal and it has given the whole team hope and self-confidence at the beginning of the Olympic season.”
Nadezhda’s best achievement used to be the second place in the pursuit at the World Cup in Anterselva in January 2014. Skardino won a bronze medal in the individual at the Olympic Games in Sochy (Domracheva won gold back then).
