Sweden sure foreign submarine entered its waters
Swedish Minister of Defence Peter Hultqvist confirms spotting a foreign submarine in Swedish waters.
The Swedish Ministry of Defence is confident that a foreign submarine entered the Swedish waters in October 2014, Minister of Defence Peter Hultqvist claimed at a briefing during his visit to Estonia.
"We are absolutely sure that the Swedish defence forces received a real proof of the presence of a foreign submarine in the Swedish waters,” RBK quotes the Swedish Minister.
Sweden announced that a foreign submarine had entered its waters near the Stockholm Archipelago on October 14. It was a small submarine. The Swedish Army tried to track it with the help of ships and helicopters but failed. Sweden stopped looking for the strange submarine on October 24.
A signal in Russia was received from the submarine, mass media reported. However, the Russian Ministry of Defence refuted the information.
