Warrant officer opens fire in Brest military unit
A trick has helped to put the shooter to sleep.
The incident occurred in a military unit in Chyrvony Bor not far from Brest. The head of the armoury, 35, barricaded in one of the rooms and started shooting at the door, tomin.by reports.
Special units, heads of the security agencies, an APC and an ambulance arrived there. The warrant officer’s wife was summoned from hospital to help negotiate with him. However, she did not manage to calm her husband down.
The soldier asked for something to drink after midnight. They gave him a glass of water mixed with a sleeping draught. The shooter fell asleep a bit later. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
Press secretary of the Ministry of Defence Uladzimir Makarau told Euroradio:
Makarau: “Nobody has been injured. The case is being investigated now.”
