Yarmoshyna: Impossible to check observers’ calculations
Independent observers are reporting discrepancies between the number of voters they have counted at polling stations and the official turnout protocols. We have asked CEC chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna if the information will be checked someway.
Yarmoshyna: “It all depends on the numbers and facts that they are reporting. The other observers present there should also be asked about it. However, the turnout protocol is the main document where the number of ballot papers is counted. That is why observers do not have to count voters. It is their personal initiative and it is impossible to check whether their calculation is true.”
The parliamentary election is being held in Belarus today, on September 11.
