2 entrepreneurs fined over protest action in Hrodna
A court in Hrodna ruled to fine two participants of a protest rally by self-employed entrepreneurs. Each of them will have to pay Br3.15 million (approx. $150), reports tut.by.
In February-March, local entrepreneurs used to gather near the building of city administration every Monday. They protested against the new regulations, in particular President's Decree No 222. On February 15, nearly 150 people gathered in Lenin Square, when Mechyslau Hoy, head of the city administration, walked out to meet them. The protesters asked to abolish or amend the current trade regulations.
At some point, a poster reading "We are against dictatorship" was unfolded during the rally.
Hoy promised to voice the concerns of entrepreneurs in Minsk and stressed he cared about what would happen to the city's entrepreneurs
The two persons were fined for this particular action. The trials took place on April 11.
