78% support visa regime with Belarus - Russia poll
60% of Russians do not want Russia to sell natural gas to Belarus at a discounted price, according to the results of the poll by the Russian pollster VTSIOM. Only 34% said they were in favor of gas price discounts for Belarus.
After Belarus introduced a five-day visa-free stay for foreigners from 80 countries of the world earlier in February, 78% of Russians said they were in favor of a visa regime with Belarus. Only 16% would like to keep the border only as a formality.
40% of Russians said they treat Belarus as a friendly state, 35% - as a trade and economic partner, 9% as a strategic partner. 4% described Belarus as a competitor and 3% as an adversary.
