Activist gets 15 days in jail for Death to Kremlin Invaders poster
Judge Alena Nyakrasava at Minsk's Zavodski district court sentenced Maksim Viniarski to 15 days of arrest.
The European Belarus activist was detained after the Freedom Day celebration rally. He and other activists were carrying the banner Death to Kremlin Invaders! All the detained but Vinyarski were let off at night.
Head of a riot police group Tarasau (he was working at the action in plain clothes) was a witness in court, human rights website Viasna reports. Vinyarski attracted attention by shouting out fascist and anti-state mottoes like Putin is a Fascist and Down with the Lukashenka Regime, he claimed. He also said that Vinyarski had attempted resistance during the detention.
Policeman Reut was also a witness in court. The main ‘fascist motto’ he accused the activist of was Bandera is a hero! Ukraine, we are with you!
