Ambulances idle without fuel for hours in Homel

Ambulances remained idle for several hours in Homel because there was not enough fuel for them. Media reports suggest the vehicles could be dispatched tll approximately 1320 hours.

Belapan reports amulances received only 10 liters of fuel per vehicle in the morning. The vehicles that servce hospitals did not receive any fuel at all.

Aliaksandr Rohau, director of the depot that provides vehicles for emergency care and medical services, explained the incident by 'a difficult economic situation in the country at the end of the year.' He also put some blame on the financial department.

Rohau added fuel was again available and paid for till the end of the year. In the new year, new funding will be available.
