The book, published by Editio in the Polish language, was launched in Warsaw on October 23.
'System Belarus' tells how and why Alyaksandr Lukashenka became a president and how he changed the country. Paradoxically enough, Andrzej Poczobut wrote the book as he was banned from leaving Hrodna for 9 months according tot he court's decision - he simply had more free time for the book.
Andrzej Poczobut is a journalist in Hrodna, he works for the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza. He is also an activist of the Union of Poles in Belarus. In 2011, the court punished him for "slander against the president" by three years of imprisonment with delay of sentence for two years. This year, the charges were canceled. In summer 2012, another criminal case was started against Andrzej Poczobut under the same article, but it was soon closed due to the absence of corpus delicti.
