Another special squad soldier deserts
It is now two special ops soldiers that face criminal charges for deserting from a military unit in Belarus since the New Year.
The commander of social mobile unit #38 (Brest) started a criminal case against a draftee on January 19.
The solder was detained on the night of January 20. He is suspected of an unlawful act as regards a civilian. The case is being investigated.
A similar criminal case was started against special squad soldier from Maryina Horka military unit #5 Alyaksandr Sushchyk at the beginning of January. He deserted on January 3. Two criminal cases were started against the young man – for deserting and a theft. According to the Ministry of Defence, 21-year-old Sushchyk left the military unit after he had been noticed using a tablet PC while on duty.
