Aryna Sabalenka WTA's August 2018 Breakthrough of the Month

Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka earned WTA's Breakthrough of the Month title, impressing tennis watchers in August, reports СWomen's Tennis Association (WTA). Belarus' No 1 20-year-old's body of work in August helped her edge two veterans who had their best major showing in New York: semifinalist Anastasija Sevastova from Latvia and quarterfinalist Lesia Tsurenko from Ukraine.
In August, Sabalenka claimed her first career title in New Haven and reached the fourth round at the US Open where she was defeated by Japan's Naomi Osaka who eventually was to win the tournament in the final against Serena Williams.
Aryna Sabalenka is now ranked No 20 in the world.
