Belarus and Russia to have common 'list of extremists'

Belarus and Russia are working on unifying the lists of "extremists" and "extremist resources". This was reported by Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoy, informs BelTA.

According to him, the idea has already been discussed at the level of interior ministers of Belarus and Russia. Krutoy wants Russia to initiate criminal proceedings against Belarusian "extremists". At the same time he referred to the opinion of some citizens.

"Citizens are perplexed when some of the resources recognized as extremist, say, in Russia, publish some messages in our country, or vice versa - those recognized as extremist in our country publish messages in Russia. And with regard to these structures or people who, let's say, fled to Russia, criminal cases are not opened in the Russian Federation or vice versa," the ambassador said.

He said that this work requires more extensive coordination of law enforcement agencies and expressed hope that everything will be resolved soon.
