The visa-free stay in Belarus can be extended up to ten days if they enter the country via the Minsk international airport, Vice Prime Minister Anatol Kalinin said at a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Transport, reports BELTA.
"Currently, we have the visa-free regime in Brest and Hrodna for ten days and via the Minsk international airport for five days. The Foreign Ministry has been instructed to extend the visa-free regime up to ten days for those traveling via the airport," the official said.
Kalinin ordered the management of the international airport and Belavia air carrier to prepare conditions for the visitors-to-come.
Belarus introduced a five-day visa-free regime for foreigners entering the country via the Minsk international airport in February 2017. On 1 January 2018, Belarus extended the visa-free regime up to ten days for the cities of Brest and Hrodna and some areas in the regions around.
