Belarus owes 200 million dollars -- Gazprom
"Gazprom" believes that the debt of Belarus to the company for the supply of gas rose to $200 million. This figure was named by deputy chairman of "Gazprom" Alexander Medvedev, teknoblog.ru reports. In early May, the Russian company said the debt was 125 million dollars.
Disputes between Belarus and Russia over gas prices started at the beginning of 2016. Russia hoped to supply gas at 142 dollars per thousand cubic meters. Belarusian officials said that the prices should be reduced due to global changes in the market. At the moment, the official Minsk said the fair price for Russian gas is $73 per thousand cubic meters. Moscow said supplies should be at a price of 132 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
Gas supplies to Belarus has been carried out by a subsidiary of "Gazprom" - OJSC "Gazpramtransgaz Belarus". Recently, the company filed a lawsuit against the regional gas supplying organizations of Belarus for underpayment for gas supplies.
