Belarus' prominent linguist Zmicier Sauka dies at 50
Belarusian linguist Zmicier Sauka has died at the age of 50 after battling with cancer, reports the press office of Belarusian Association of Journalists.
Zmicier Sauka was born on July 26, 1965 in Minsk. He participated in the Belarusian Workshop movement in the late 1980s and worked as language professor and editor. He authored the books: "Belarusian Dictionaries and Encyclopedia (co-authored with Vitaut Kipel, New York-Minsk, 2002) and "Belarusian Classical Orthography" (-co-authored with Yuras Bushlyakou, Vincuk Vyachorka, Zmicier Sanko, Vilnius-Minsk, 2005).
Zmicier was one of the hosts of Mounik show on Belsat TV where he started a language skills service.
