Belarusian MPs not ready to ratify EEC treaty
They continue the discussion, in particular the oil aspect.
It is still unknown when the question of ratification may be considered in the House of Representatives. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to an incognito deputy. Russia has already ratified the document, today it was signed by Vladimir Putin. Kazakhstan has allegedly promised ro ratify the treaty on October 1 but is in no hurry. In Belarus, it may be held on October 7.
As is known, Belarus wants to solve the problem with the Russian "tax maneuver" in the oil sector, which can lead to our country losing up to 1 billion dollars in damages (this was announced by President Alyaksandr Lukashenka). Minsk wants to completely retain in its budget the export duties on oil products produced from the Russian crude oil. The Russian budget annually gets up to 4 billion dollars from Belarus.
It should be recalled that the Treaty of the Eurasian Economic Union was signed in May in Astana, by the heads of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. The document records the agreements of these countries "to move to the next stage after the integration of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space." The Russian side stressed that "formation of the largest common market in the CIS with 170 million people that will be a powerful new center of economic development is almost complete."
Headquarter of the Eurasian Commission will be in Moscow, and the court - in Minsk.
Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union will take effect on 1 January 2015.
