BELTA shows Lukashenka's photos after stroke rumors
On 31 July, the state news agency BELTA published the first over the past several days news about Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
Yesterday, several media reported on the rumors that the head of Belarus had allegedly suffered a stroke. Lukashenka's spokeswoman Natallia Eismant refuted those allegations. However, some outlets paid attention to the fact that the state TV channels did not feature Lukashenka in the evening news programs.
According to BELTA, Lukashenka today received the head of Minsk Region Anatol Isachenka to discuss the course of the harvesting campaign, cattle farming and road construction in the region.
Lukashenka noted that the grain yields is expected to be less than in 2017. He pins big hopes on the corn crops. "I think we should hope to gather one million or even more tons of corn, and thus filling the gap."
