CEC secretary explains why he does not know ‘his’ city council member
Mikalai Lazavik has been interviewed by Respublika before the approaching local elections.
He does not know the name of ‘his’ member of Minsk City Council, the CEC secretary claimed. It means that the person is doing a good job, the official thinks.
"I am not acquainted with my constituency’s representative in Minsk City Council. However, I do not think that this is bad. It just means that the person is solving problems quickly and efficiently – uninterrupted work of the city services, transport, healthcare, etc. Electors simply have no need to be interested in him or try to meet him,” Lazavik explained.
