‘Chernobyl death’ warns Minskers about new NPP threat (photo)
Anarchists conducted an anti-nuclear action in the centre of Minsk on April 25. It was dated for the 30th anniversary of Chernobyl disaster in order to remind about the consequences of the catastrophe and the threat that the NPP in Astravets may pose, pramen.io reports.
A few people wearing costumes symbolizing death and the results of Chernobyl disaster gave out about 200 leaflets ‘Why anarchists are against the NPP’ in the centre of Minsk.
It is necessary to develop renewable energy instaed of building the NPP, they believe. They call nuclear power engineering a bulky and centralized means of energy production. It also requires gigantic expenses, they stressed. ‘The peaceful atom’ may become nonpeaceful at any moment and may result in a great number of problems for Belarus, they believe. They mentioned Iran and North Korea.
